Native Woodland Scheme

The Native Woodland Scheme is aimed at specifically promoting the proactive protection and expansion of Ireland’s native woodland resource.

These measure are:

• Native Woodland Establishment (GPC 9 & GPC 10) which promotes the establishment of new native woodland on open greenfield sites: and
• Native Woodland Conservation Scheme (NWS Conservation) which promotes the appropriate restoration of existing native woodland including the conversion of non-native forest to native woodland.
